The Progressive Twelve Club of the Greater Jackson County
In the 1940's a group of young men that played basketball decided that they wanted to assist other young men in Jackson County to become entrepreneurs. The group decided to provide mentorship from local leaders in area communities. The group also provided financial assistance by doing fund raisers, performing plays, ans doing small jobs throughout the county.
In the 1950's the group went through a name change and also expanded their role by performing community service projects. Today's projects include performing litter control on Lafayette St. through the "Adopt a Highway" program, hosting an annual Valentine's day dance, awarding scholarships to help students purchase books, and volunteering at events held by Churches and other not for profit groups.
The Progressive Twelve Club of the Greater Jackson County is one of the oldest men's club in the Florida Panhandle and still provides a great service to the Community.
