Fire Run 5k

The Marianna Fire Department joined with Convenant Hospice this past October 2010 to hold the 2nd annual Fire Department 5k.

The Marianna Fire Department joined with Covenant Hospice this past October 2010 to have the 2nd annual Fire Department 5k.  The event was a huge success with over 200 people registered and 176 runners and walkers.  The event started at 9:00am with Mayor Roger Clay starting the race.  Each runner received a t shirt and free bar b q sandwich.  The course deemed to be  challenging with hills turns and some dirt to maneuver around.  The race came to an end back at Covenant Hospice on Kelson Ave with Mr. Mark Clements finishing 1st overall male with a time of 19:06, our first female to cross the line was Ms. Ashley Merit of a time of 23:53.  We have already met with the run committee to discuss the 2011 ladder scatter run with possible talk of adding a 10k course to our event.
