Retirement - The City is a member of the Florida State Retirement System (FRS). This is available only to general employees. Fire and Police are not eligible.
Insurance - The City pays 100% of health and dental insurance for the employee only with the option of employee purchasing coverage for dependents. The City also pays for employee a $50,000 life insurance and AD&D policy.
Holidays - Ten (10) paid holidays which are the following: New Years Day, MLK, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, Good Friday, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Thurs & Fri) and Christmas Day.
Employee Birthday Leave - Employee receives one day off during the month of his/her birthday.
Longevity pay - Employee receives $500 longevity pay after every continuous five years of service.
Leave time - Annual leave is based on years of service. General employees receives 8 hours a month annual leave which increases 1 hour every five years of continuous service caps out after 21 years of service . Fire public safety personnel recieves 12 hours a month annual leave which increases 1 hour every five years of continuous service which caps out after 21 years of service. Police public safety personnel recieves 8.4 hours a month annual leave which increases 1 hour every five years of continuous service caps out after 21 years of service.
Sick leave is as follows: General employees recieve 8 hours a month, fire public safety personnel recieves 12 hours a month, and police public safety personnel recieves 8.4 hours a month.
Allowances - Fire public safety personnel - uniform allowance of $50 quarterly is received. Police public safety personnel - uniform allowance of $75 quarterly is received.
