Chipola Greenway Volunteer Activity

The Chipola Greenway Volunteers are visiting local civic organizations to provide information, answer questions and recruit new members.  The schedule is tentatively as follows:

Neighborhood Meeting - February 23, 2012

There will be a neighborhood meeting on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.  The event will be hosted by the Marianna Church of God located on South Jefferson Street.  Information will be provided on Energy Savings, Affordable Housing, Weatherization and much more!  This is a city-wide effort to increase communication with neighbors and create positive improvements in individual neighborhoods.  The City wants to provide citizens an opportunity to meet with officials and staff after normal business hours in a relaxed setting.  City Departments along with organizations such as HELPS, Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Library, the Chipola Greenway Volunteers, the Wright Foundation and many more will be available to answer questions and provide helpful information.

The following door prizes will be given away to lucky citizens present at the time of the drawings:  $100 off an electricity bill (donated by Wright Foundation); an energy basket valued at $200 (donated by Florida Public Utilties); the ticket holder's choice of either the month of February's Sewer or Water Bill (donated by the City of Marianna); 10 yards of topsoil valued at $100 (donated by Florida Environmental Landscape and Design); a vehicle alignment (donated by Cobb Front End and Tire Service); a certificate for "Buy $10 of gasoline and get $10 worth of gasoline free" (donated by McCoy's Chevron); and Rib-Eye Steak valued at $15 (donated by Sav-a-Lot Groceries).
