The City of Marianna owns and operates its potable drinking water system. It provides safe potable water for the citizens of Marianna and surrounding communities. The water system utilizes 3- remote well sites, 1- elevated storage tank and 1-ground storage tank.
The City uses an average of 1.4 mgd (million gallons daily) from the floridan aquifer.
We test daily the water to insure the utmost quality and safety and remain in full compliance with the DEP and EPA regulations.
NOTICE: If you have an automatic water sprinkler system please be aware of the 2004 Florida Statutes, Title XXVIII, Chapter 373.62 Water conservation; automatic sprinkler systems. --Any person who purchases and installs an automatic lawn sprinkler system after May 1, 1991, shall install, and must maintain and operate, a rain sensor device or switch that will override the irrigation cycle of the sprinkler system when adequate rainfall has occurred.
