National Nursing Home Week

Marianna Health & Rehabilitation Center is so thankful to have caring staff who provide quality care and service to our residents. Also, we are thankful for family and friends who entrust us with the care of their loved ones.

Letter published in the Jackson County Floridan:

Thank You for Such Great Care

As a family, we are so proud and humbled to be part of this great community. It has never been more real and meaningful than these last few months since Mama, Jessie Ruth Gilmore, arrived at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation.

After successful cancer treatments left her in a weakened state, we were so fortunate to be admitted to a facility with such great nurses, assistants, therapists, and particularly leadership which creates this type quality care and loving concern. We are so happy and blessed that all these great folks, and especially our physician, Dr. Steven Spence, invested their talents, time, and emotional connection with Mama.

Mama once said, “I have never seen people so dedicated to their work before.” And this is coming from somebody who knows work. They went above and beyond duty – and we are so thankful to hear professionals say, “We consider it an honor to care for Mrs. Jessie.”

To that, we as a family say, “Indeed it was an honor for you to care for a such Godly lady of dignity, courage, and strength – a woman worthy of the greatest love and care.” And she received it. And we are forever grateful. Some things we experienced are just too deep and too personal to attempt to convey, but to all of you who demonstrated such care and concern, and you know who you are, again we say "thank you."

Our hope and her hope was alive throughout the journey – and we know now that Mama is living the dream and finding out what it is all about up there with our King Jesus. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13 NKJV

Very Best Regards,

Darwin Gilmore on behalf of Jiggs, Jason, and our entire families

Senior Fellowship Association Holds Meeting

Marianna Health and Rehab was spotlighted at the Senior Fellowship Association meeting. Susan Ramin, Rehab director and speech therapist, spoke to the group about the upcoming changes to be made in the 180 bed facility when the former Health Department becomes a part of the Rehab Center. There will be separate rooms just for those in therapy. They furnished the door prizes and Daisie Schoultheis, Earl Williams and Pat Ouzts were the lucky winners.
